Made from premium quality Paulownia timber this lightweight hardwood prized for its excellent strength-to-weight ratio and dimensional stability. Its natural resistance to warping, shrinking and swelling makes it an ideal material for shutters, helping to ensure smooth operation and long-lasting performance. With its fine grain and smooth finish, paulownia also provides an excellent surface for painted or stained finishes.

Premium Painted Finish
The fine smooth grain of Paulownia timber provides an exceptionally refined painted finish, delivering a sleek, furniture quality appearance that enhances any interior style. Four coats of paint are applied to your timber shutters. The first coat is a water base followed by three more two-pack coats, providing our customers with the gold standard for durability and the ultimate paint finish.

Deep Mortise and Tenon Joint
Built with traditional craftsmanship, our NatureView shutters feature precision engineered mortise and tenon joints. This time honoured construction method is renowned for its exceptional strength, unlike other joinery methods such as screwed or butt joints. Our superior joinery technique creates a stronger, more durable frame that is built to maintain its integrity and performance for many years to come.

Engineered Stiles
When building a louvre shutter, using an engineered stile (the vertical edge of the shutter) is arguably the single most important factor in ensuring the shutter’s longevity. An engineered stile prevents warping and twisting, and guarantees the distance between the left and right vertical stiles remain exact from the very top of the shutter to the bottom. An engineered stile ensures the frame remains perfectly square forever and problem free.
Engineered stiles prevent:
- Larger light gaps between blades and stiles, manufacturing allowance for tolerance of stile movement
- Stile bowing inwards causing poor blade closure by louvre blades pinching up against stiles, this can also cause damage to your blades.
- Stile bows outward even slightly due to seasonal moisture changes, this would create larger light gaps between the stile and louvre blade.
- Stile bows outward can cause the louvre pins to move and not sit correctly in its pocket causing blades to sag or drop out.

Long Lasting Performance and Stability
The natural stability of Paulownia prevents warping, twisting and cracking. It is strong, durable, and suitable for a wide range of interior applications throughout the home. With the ability to make wider shutter panels for Australian homes. The Paulownia timber we use are all kiln-dried for Australian conditions.
CleanView Tilt
CleanView is our long lasting contemporary high end, design aesthetic, concealed tilt. It provides smooth and precise louvre control and improved closure. The concealed tilt system creates a clean, uncluttered appearance on both the front and rear of the shutter, delivering a refined, premium finish from every viewpoint.

Concealed Hinge
Our NatureView shutter has the optional feature of premium concealed hinges, carefully selected to deliver a refined, seamless look. Hidden from sight when the panels are closed, these hinges create a sophisticated finish while maintaining exceptional strength, smooth movement, and long-term reliability. The result is a cleaner design that keeps the focus on the beauty of the shutters themselves.
Easy to Operate
It’s lightweight nature is ideal for Plantation shutters, placing less stress on joinery, hinges, louvre pins and other components, making shutters easy to open and close.
It also allows us to configure wider shutter panels to suit Australian windows where needed.

Nylon Louvre Pins
Louver pins act as the critical pivot points that connect each individual louver to the stile (vertical side frame) of the shutter. Choosing nylon over cheap PVC plastics or rigid metals offers severe mechanical advantages for a window treatment meant to move thousands of times.
Nylon is an engineering polymer with an exceptionally low coefficient of friction. It is essentially self-lubricating. Unlike metal pins that require oil (which ruins wood or PVC finishes) or scrape loudly over time, Standard plastics become brittle with continuous twisting force, leading to broken pins when a louver gets bumped. Nylon possesses incredibly high fatigue resistance and high tensile strength. It can absorb the rotational stress of heavy timber or synthetic louvers without warping, snapping, or cracking under daily stress.
Nylon pins rotate quieter against the frame. This ensures your shutters stay whisper quiet during operation.

Smooth Adjustable Blade Rotation
The factory will have all your louvre blades tensioned perfectly providing you with smooth tilt operation. All Greenview shutters come with tension screws. The main job of a tension screw is to let you tighten the louvers when they get too loose (preventing "louver droop") or loosen them if they are too stiff to move. We use 316 grade stainless steel screws it contains chromium, which creates an invisible, self-healing oxide layer that blocks moisture and oxygen. This means your tension screws will never rust, lock up, or snap due to corrosion. Preventing permanent, orange-brown rust stains bleeding down the sides of your clean painted or stained shutters and ensuring smooth operation for the life of the product.

Environmentally Friendly
Paulownia is a rapidly renewable timber, sustainably sourced, and fast growing making it a more environmentally sustainable than many other hardwoods. If you’re an environmentally conscious homeowner, the Paulownia timber is the very best option for our planet.
Energy Efficient
With excellent thermal insulation properties, NatureView Paulownia offers the highest thermal performance of all plantation-grown louvre shutter materials, delivering outstanding energy efficiency. Its natural insulating qualities help reduce heat transfer through windows, keeping interiors cooler during Summer and warmer throughout Winter.

Sound Dampening
The solid timber construction provides excellent acoustic benefits, helping to dull street traffic and outside ambient noise much better than fabric blinds or thin curtain.
